Donald “Big Don” Stanley Phillips Jr., 53, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at his home.

Don was born March 19, 1968, in Halifax County to the late Donald Stanley Phillips, Sr. and Judith Ann Futrell Phillips. 

Don was a very loving and caring person. Don loved his daughter and was very proud of her. She just graduated from college and was excited for her to start her career. Don loved Carolina basketball, NASCAR. Don loved hanging out with his friends and always telling his family he loved them.

Don is survived by his daughter, Sarah Phillips; his sisters, Sherry Baggett and her fiancé David Falcone and Michelle Taylor and her husband Jerry; his niece, Mindy King; his great-nieces, Adalyn Hudson and Brooklyn Carroll; his good friends, Kevin and Todd Delbridge; his special companion, Jet.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating. A Reception will follow the service at the funeral home. A private burial will take place later. The family will receive friends Friday, May 21, 2021 from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
