Mildred Lynell Rademaker, 75, of Roanoke Rapids, suddenly went to be with the Lord May 16, 2021.

Mildred was born February 26, 1946 in Covington County Alabama by her late parents Ruth Mildred Peevy Ealum and Ernest Ealum.  

She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Rademaker, after 50 years of marriage filled with love, laughter and companionship. They both loved to travel, visit friends, attend church and spend time with their family.

 Mildred was well known in the Roanoke Rapids area and touched many people’s lives. She was a hairdresser, Cake Decorator as well as a Cake Decorating instructor.   

She was a delightful person —  a wife, mother and friend.  

Her smile, jokes and laughter lit up a room bringing joy to all those around.  

She was strong, beautiful and a compassionate person. 

A strong believer in her faith, Mildred attended Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved her church family and her family so much and she will be deeply missed by so many whose lives she touched. 

 In addition to her husband, Mildred is survived by her brothers Paul Ealum and his wife Syliva, of Jacksonville, Florida.  Bobby Ealum and wife Carolyn, of Orange Park, Florida.  Children: Shirlian Ross and her significant other Tom Barbour of Cary, North Carolina,  Cyndie Owens and spouse Mike Owens of Roanoke Rapids, Robert C. Rademaker Sr. and spouse Autumn Rademaker, of Roanoke Rapids.  Grandchildren: Christopher Ross, Jessica Ross, Kyle Rabb, Alan Keeter, Brandon Rabb, Austin Rabb, Jessica Owens, Robert C. Rademaker Jr. (Chase)  And many Great Grandchildren. Many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and special mention to a friend and caregiver, Vickie.

Friends and family may call on the family Thursday between 1pm and 4pm at the residence.  The viewing will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 between 6pm and 8pm at Hockaday Funeral home, located on Hwy 158, Roanoke Rapids, NC  27870. 

Funeral services will be held May 21, 2021 at the Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church on Old Farm Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870 at 2:00pm,  followed by graveside committal at Crestview Memorial Cemetery, located on Smith Church Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870. 

 Arrangements are under the care of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
