Martha “Ruth” Lane, 64, of Lake Gaston was called to heaven on July 18, 2021.

Ruth was born September 23, 1956 to Ralph Lane, Sr. and Martha Eaton Lane Courser. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Lane, Sr.; stepfather, Richard Courser; and stepbrother, Kevin Courser.

During her life, Ruth accomplished an associates degree in marketing from Nash Community College. 

She then worked in marketing prior to becoming a homemaker and stay at home mother. Later in life she then worked alongside her mother at Stonehouse Timber Lodge on Lake Gaston. Ruth enjoyed the beach and feeling her toes in the sand, life at the lake and spending fine time with friends and family. She was a loving soul who never missed a chance to tell you she loved you. The memories shared with her, no matter how big or small, will be cherished forever and always.

Ruth is survived by her mother, Martha Lane Course; son, Trey Manning (Taylor); grandchildren, Ashton and Everly; brother, Ralph Lane, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Ralph Lane, III “Tripp” (Emily), Matthew Lane (Natalie), Zachery Lane (Monica), Mitchell Lane (Brittany); great nieces and nephews, Summer, Addison, Connor, Thomas, Noah, Raleigh and Charlotte; stepbrothers, Richard Courser, Jr., Thomas Courser and Adam Courser; stepsisters, Heather Courser and Christy Sharp.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the friends and family at  Stonehouse Timber Lodge for all the love and continued support throughout the years. Also, another thanks to her special friend Karen Turner and other friends she gained throughout the years. You truly made a big difference in her daily life.

A private service will be held to celebrate Ruth’s life under the direction of Charlie Mayo.
