Ganell Huey Pittman went to her home in Heaven on her 92nd birthday, April 1, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Louella Huey, her husband of 44 years, James A. Pittman, her brother Albert Huey, Jr., sister Nadell Blake and stepdaughter, Deb Weeks.
Surviving to cherish Ganell’s love and memory is her son, Ralph Johnson and wife Bobbie of Roanoke Rapids, NC, stepchildren: Dennis Pittman and wife Rosemary of Wilmington, NC, James L. Pittman and wife, Debbie of Union Grove, AL and Dee Tucker of Weldon, NC.

Ganell had eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren that she truly enjoyed and treasured.
Ganell was a dedicated wife and worked beside her husband for many years managing a motel and cottages in Nags Head, NC. Previously she was employed with Leggett’s.
Above all Ganell loved her Lord and Savior and invested in sharing His love throughout her life. She enjoyed the many mission trips with her church family ministering inside and outside the United States.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation, 507 Highway 158, Roanoke Rapids, NC. The funeral will be Monday, April 4, 2022 at Noon at New Hope United Methodist Church, 3609 Hwy 158, Roanoke Rapids, NC. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
