Nancy Wilder Williams, 82, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born October 5, 1940, in Halifax County to the late Elwood Shelton Wilder and Annie Belle Clark Wilder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Randolph Williams; brother Elwood Shelton Wilder Jr and his wife Sybil; and brother Herman Leroy Wilder and his wife Laura.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who held a special place in many hearts.  

She loved her church family and was a devoted member of the Roanoke Rapids Church of God. Nancy graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 1959, with a career in accounting and finance retiring from Halifax County Home Health and Hospice. 

Along with serving the Lord, she had a passion to help others. She volunteered at the Roanoke Rapids Pregnancy Support Center and the Relay for Life, being a breast cancer survivor herself.

Nancy leaves behind her children Grady Neal Jr, Cindy White and her husband Lawrence of Roanoke Rapids; step-children Randy Williams and his wife Helen, Renee Williams Spain and her husband Millard of Roanoke Rapids; siblings Joseph Wilder and his wife Elaine, Ella Faye Gibbs and her husband Charles of Raleigh; and grandchildren Brad Wilder, Michelle Williams, Jennifer Harris, Samantha Meeks, Sarah Garcia and her husband Alex, Garrett Williams, Grady Neal III and his wife Courtney; and a very special pet, her cat Angel; along with many special nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the Roanoke Rapids Church of God with Pastor Timothy Dean officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 P.M. at the church prior to the service and other times at Nancy’s home. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 13, 2023, at Cedarwood Cemetery.
