Mary Lee Twisdale, 82, of Weldon, passed away Wednesday September 13, 2023, at ECU North Hospital.  

Mary was born August 14, 1941, in Halifax County to the late Woodrow Wilson Daniels and Mary Etta Strickland Daniels.  

She is preceded in death by her husband Jess E. Jones, Sr., and her daughter Susan Hope Twisdale.

Mary is survived by her sons Ernest Bland Twisdale (Beverly) of Roanoke Rapids, Stephen Lee Twisdale (Lorna) of Roanoke Rapids, and Jess E. Jones Jr of Goldsboro.; grandchildren Jacob Bland Twisdale and Caleb Lee Snider; one great grandchild Jonah Bland Twisdale; her sister Gwendolyn Davis (Johnny) of Scotland Neck; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with the Rev. Jeremy Kobernat officiating.  

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM and at other times at the home of Ernest and Beverly Twisdale, 704 E. 13th Street, Roanoke Rapids.   

A Private Burial will be held.
