Thelma Cuthrell Fowler, 91, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at her home in Roanoke Rapids.

Thelma was preceded in death by both parents, Benjamin and Annie Cuthrell.  She was also predeceased by her son, Larry Smith; along with ten siblings.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family.  She enjoyed writing music and playing the guitar.

Thelma was a member of the Jo Story Senior Center, where she loved to spend time at.  

She enjoyed playing horseshoes, archery, bowling and shooting pool, along with many other sports in her earlier years.

Thelma is survived by her husband of 62 years, David Charles Fowler, Sr;  and four sons, Benny Smith of Sanford, Bruce Smith of Blairsville, GA, David Charles Fowler, Jr of Roanoke Rapids, and Joe Andrew Fowler of Roanoke Rapids.  She was blessed with eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 4 pm until 7 pm.
