Betty Jean Dunn Callahan, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Halifax, NC on Saturday, February 3, 2024. 

Betty was born on June 11, 1942. 

Betty and her husband owned and operated a convenience store in Enfield, NC for many years before retiring and moving to Halifax. 

Betty was known for her wit and sense of humor and was truly loved by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty years, Charles Watson Callahan; her parents, Byron and Betty Dunn; her brother, Mike Dunn; her niece, Kandy Bryant Poarch as well as her beloved dog, Gracie.

Betty is survived by her brother, William “Bill” Dunn (Donna) of Jacksonville, FL; her sister, Kay Dunn Bryant (Edward) of Emporia, VA; her nephews, Frankie Bryant (Tonya) of Emporia, VA and Tracy Dunn (Lisa) of FL and her dear friend and neighbor, Kathy Johnson of Halifax, NC.

A special thanks to her sitter, Betty Frazier.

A private burial of her ashes will be done at a later date.
