Benjamin “Buster” Wilson Moore Jr., 73, of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on Thursday February 29, 2024.
“Buster” was born on October 17, 1950, in Halifax.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Moore of Gaston and Gertrude Beck of Alamogordo, NM.
He was a beloved Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and decorated US Air Force Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
He was a genuine family man and baseball aficionado who was picked up as a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds but chose to serve his country instead.
He loved his country, his family, and Jesus.

He was a dedicated employee to Georgia Pacific of Skippers for more than 25 years before the plant closed. He then worked at Lowe’s Distribution Center in Garysburg until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Sandra “Sue” Moore of the home; his daughter Jennifer (Brian) Innis of Roanoke Rapids, his son Benjamin (Stephanie) Moore of Raleigh, his grandchildren Taylor (Keith) Moseley, Benjamin Joseph Moore, and Reagan Moore, his mother-in-law Virginia Newsome of the home.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday March 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Cedarwood Cemetery, Pastor Jason Yeatts will preside over the service.
