Lloyd Edward “Bubba” Seymour, 85 of Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away peacefully at Bayberry Retirement Home on Tuesday August 6, 2024.  

“Bubba” was born on June 29, 1939, in Petersburg, Virginia.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie Edward and Thelma Carlisle Seymour and his wife Janet Drewery Seymour.

He is survived by his son Doug Seymour of Pleasant Hill, his daughters Teresa S. Cousins (Wesley) of Roanoke Rapids, Angela S. Cox (Mike) of Littleton, grandchildren Danielle Green (Scott), Michaela Morris (Grant), Kelsey Crocker (Travis) and Kamryn Lee (John), great grandchild Brady Green, his sisters Dorothy S. Story of Church Road Virginia, Juanita S. York of Chester Virginia, sister-in-law Yvonne Coyne of Roanoke Rapids, his brother Jerry Seymour (Betty) of Petersburg Virginia and several special nieces and nephews.

“Bubba” served his country in the United States Air Force, he retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation after 30 years, and was co-owner of Anna’s Italian Restaurant. 

He enjoyed gardening, NASCAR racing with Richard Petty as his favorite driver, and Atlanta Braves baseball.

“Bubba” is now reunited with the Love of his life Janet, who he has missed daily for the past 25 years. They were married over 35 years before her passing.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday August 11, 2024, at 2:00pm in Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Chapel with Pastor Randy Martin presiding.

The family will receive friends at the home of Yvonne Coyne, 104 Appleton Drive Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870 on the days leading up to the service and after the service.
