Earl Hardy Inge, 82, went to Heaven on his favorite day of the week, Sunday, April 19, 2020.

Earl was the son of the late Garnet Chapman Inge and Beulah Cox Inge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother; Donald Inge, half-brothers; Roy, Ray and Garnet Inge, and a half-sister; Frances Miller.

Earl retired after 30 years of service with the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District. He was a 1955 graduate of Weldon High School, and then graduated from the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprenticeship Program. 

In his younger years he enjoyed deer hunting, rock fishing, waterskiing and his annual trips to Myrtle Beach. Earl was a longtime dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he held numerous positions including Church Trustee and Deacon and was a member of the Choir. He also enjoyed Christian and 50’s music.

Earl is survived by his beloved wife Sandra Gums Inge, his daughter; Lisa Inge Burgwyn of Greenville, NC, his sons; Earl Hardy Inge Jr. and his wife Debbie of Virginia Beach, VA and Timothy Cecil Inge of Cary, NC, a sister; Becky Harbin and her husband Harold of Williamsburg, VA, four grandchildren; Blair and Tyler Burgwyn and Jacob and Jordan Inge.

A private Graveside Service will be held at Cedarwood Cemetery, with a Celebration of Earl’s Life to be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Earl’s Beloved Calvary Baptist Church, 1405 Bolling Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
