It is with deep sadness that we announce Glenda Roxanna High Howerton, 67, entered her Eternal Rest on Monday, August 17, 2026, where she knows no more pain. 

Glenda was born in Halifax on June 14, 1959, to the late WL and Betty High. 

After graduating from high school, she held several types of jobs where she worked hard and diligently, her favorite being a landscaper for her dad, WL. 

In addition to her parents, Glenda was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ricky High and Ray High.

Glenda leaves to cherish her memory her uncle, Leroy Gilliam, and his wife, Linda; aunt, Maggie Potts; three nieces, Brandi Hewlett (Andy), Winter Brooke Green (Jason), and Billi Pearson; her canine companion she cared for during her mother’s illness, Little Bit; and many extended family and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held for Glenda at Cedarwood Cemetery on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Wayne Marshall officiating.
