I am writing to call for community unification regarding the upcoming NC House District 27 election in support of the Hon. Michael Wray; undoubtedly, an election in a critical season, mandating critical decisions, navigated by proven leadership that will determine the future of our district for generations to come.
What is most important is that all who can vote do vote, regardless of political affiliation, mindful that your voice is your vote, so vote your conscience. It is imperative that voters look beyond themselves and have a sense of prophetic vision for the sake of those who cannot speak for themselves, our children, both born and unborn. We must not be deterred by frivolous political rhetoric, filled with misinterpretations of valid historical achievements, and ploys that speak to our emotions but are void of hard facts. Simply put, voters must rely on truth substantiated by irrefutable facts. Facts show 20 years of bipartisan cooperation resulting in over $ 200 million in local project funding, including new and renovated infrastructure, Medicaid expansion in House Bill 76, and meeting the basic needs of all people by sustaining nursing homes, fire departments, and sewer systems, to name a few. Facts as represented in the NC Chamber’s annual 2023-2024 report on voting give Wray a lifetime voting ranking of 83, which was among the highest of NC Democrats. Facts in the 2023-2024 NC Free annual report rated Wray at 80.1, the third highest among NC Democrats.
The facts speak for themselves, but there is a call for more. Wray is an imperfect man but determined to work for a more perfect future for us all. Let us join, using the proven results of our past, to support greater results for our future.
Respectfully,
Rev. Dr. Travis T. Judkins
