A Weldon man wanted in a July 11 shooting death surrendered to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Saturday and was served with a murder warrant.

Major Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said 26-year-old Jada Jermaine Ausby surrendered around 9:45 p.m. He was denied bail and has an August 26 district court date.

Ausby was wanted in the shooting death of 38-year-old Moncrinique Clements. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. on July 11 at the Dogwood Park Apartments in Weldon. Clements died the next day.
