Randolph-Macon senior Kelly Williams (Garysburg, N.C./Halifax Academy) has earned the final Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week recognition available for 2019-2020. The final award also settles her career count of ODAC Player of the Week nods at 17, including three in her final season.
Williams averaged 22 points-per-game over the last week along with 12 rebounds-per-game. She maintains a stranglehold on the top spots in the conference for scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.8 points-per-game and 11.6 rebounds-per-game. The senior is Top 10 in the country for total number of double-doubles with 17 total.
Williams opened the week with 20 points and eight rebounds as well as two blocks against Shenandoah in a 73-51 win for R-MC. In the regular season finale at Lynchburg on Saturday, she scored 24 points and 16 rebounds in a 79-71 victory. Both wins were crucial for R-MC to lock up the #4 seed in the conference tournament that begins later this week.
The Yellow Jackets will square off with the fifth-seeded Shenandoah Hornets in a matchup between the two most recent ODAC Champions. The Yellow Jackets won the 2017-2018 ODAC Tournament after a dominant performance by Williams in the tournament where she set new tournament records for scoring and rebounding across three games in Salem. Shenandoah launched a Cinderella run in last year's tournament as the #8 seed, including a semifinal win against R-MC. For the Yellow Jackets and the Hornets, this year's edition of the tournament will begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va.
