The 2019 Roanoke Rapids High School Cross Country Team finished strong yesterday at their final Meet at South Granville HS.
The Lady Jackets walked away with a Conference Championship finishing in 1st place at every Meet this Season while earning 4 All Conference Spots. The Men's team finished 3rd in the Conference and earned 2 All Conference Positions.
All Conference were Caitlin Bobbitt (Sr.), Aseel Qasem (Sr.), Daniel Acree (Jr.), Brooke Ott (Fr.), Anna Grace King (Fr.) and Allen Godsey (Fr.).
Roanoke Rapids Cross Country head coach Aubrey Coker stated "I am very proud of this entire team. The work they put in and dedication to improving is second to none. As the Coach from Granville Central said at the Awards Presentation yesterday, "This is not a sport that young athletes flock to because of the work it entails", and I applaud each member of this Cross Country Team for sticking it out and accomplishing what they have this season. The Young Ladies captured a 2nd Conference Championship, which is a great accomplishment, and with the youth of our entire team I look forward to great things in the future. I am going to miss the Senior Runners on this team and the younger athletes are gonna have big shoes to fill."
RRHS Cross Country will now move on to compete in the Regionals on November 2nd at WakeMed Park in Cary, NC.
