In Walk-off, Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity Loses To Bunn

A walk-off left Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Bunn on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Bunn batting in the bottom of the eighth when Emily Bell singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Bunn evened things up at four in the bottom of the seventh inning when Albany Tuner drew a walk, scoring one run.

Caroline White took the win for Bunn. She went eight innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Lily Curtis took the loss for Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity. She lasted seven and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out three.

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity had seven hits in the game. Abbi Carpenter and Taylor Wade all collected multiple hits for Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity. Wade and Carpenter each managed two hits to lead Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity. Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Carpenter made the most plays with seven.

Bunn tallied nine hits on the day. Bell, Maddison Driver, and Mallori Darnell all managed multiple hits for Bunn. Bell went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bunn in hits.
