The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is seeking help in cases where two homes were shot into as well as an attempted armed robbery, both which occurred late Thursday night.

Shootings

Captain Bobby Martin reported shortly before 11:15 p.m. shots were fired into two homes in the 100 block of Madison Street.

No one was injured in either shooting.

Police discovered the front window was shot and damaged at one home and the home next door had a round penetrate the wall and travel across the living room where it struck an interior wall.

Investigators discovered numerous shell casings near First and Madison streets from where it appears the shots were fired.

Attempted robbery

Meanwhile, shortly before 10:45 p.m., Martin said officers were called to the area of Motel 6 where a victim reported he was approached by a man who reportedly pulled a gun on him and demanded he surrender his wallet.

The victim ran away and was not harmed.

The suspect is described as a black male standing approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall with a thin build.

He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and was last seen running toward Walmart.

Anyone with information on either of these matters is encouraged to call the police department at 252-533-2810 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
