The Weldon Police Department reported the following:

Sunday, August 28, 2016
At approximately 2:2 4p.m., Officer William Wheeler conducted a traffic stop near Fairground Lane. After investigation, it was discovered the driver had an order for arrest from Halifax County.
Winston Hendricks, Jr., 26 of Halifax , was arrested and charged with contempt of court, perjury and court violations.

At approximately 1:25 a.m., Sergeant Thomas Mason received a call to assist officers at Halifax Community College.
There was a large crowd in the parking area after hours. After several attempts to clear the premises, Demarcus Cole, 26, of Jackson was arrested and charged with second-degree trespassing.
He received a $1,000 bond and September 26 court date.

At approximately 1:25 a.m., Officer Noland Coles was patrolling near Halifax Community College when he noticed suspicious activity among some people in the parking lot.
After refusing to comply with officer on several attempts, James Webb Jr., 31, of Roanoke Rapids was arrested and charged with possession of prescription drugs and a resisting public officer.
He received a $2,500 bond and September 21 court date.
Sergeant Emmett Smith of Halifax Community College and Officer Anthony Thomas assisted.

Monday, August 29, 2016
At approximately 1:16 p.m., Coles observed a vehicle parked in Days Inn parking lot.
With further investigation, he discovered the vehicle was registered as stolen.
Kristina Horton was arrested and charged with unauthorized use.
She received $1,000 bond and September 15 court date.
