Jeanne Crowley Harding, 80, of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh,NC.

She was born March 5, 1937 in Kingsport,TN, daughter of the late Thomas H. Crowley and Juanita R. Wolfe Crowley.

She was a graduate of Steed Coll, E. Tenn. State University, University of Tenn, receiving degrees in Education and Business. Jeanne served as business manager for Swingle Hospital and Bowman Pediatric Clinic, both in Johnson City,TN.

Her and her husband, Harry founded Industrial Distributors with locations in Roanoke Rapids and Canton ,NC, Savannah,GA, Prattville, Ala, and Columbus, Miss.. She served in the following professional organizations; Pulp and Paper Storekeepers Assn, Paper Ind. Mgmnt Assn, American Hospital Assn, Nat. Republican Party. Jeanne was active in her community and formerly served as President of PTA as well president of Hospital Guild President of Girl Scouts of USA. Jeanne was a dedicated member of St. Marks Episcopal Church, Halifax, NC. She enjoyed reading, walking, swimming, and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Keith Barnes, brother, Thomas Crowley, and sister, Martha Wethington.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Harding, of Roanoke Rapids; daughter, Kathy Barnes Heimbuch and her husband, Tim, of Colonial Heights, VA; son, Kent Barnes, of Roanoke Rapids; stepsons, Steve Harding, of Orlando,FL, Jim Harding, of Raleigh,NC, Jeff Harding, of Clearwater, FL; stepdaughter, Patti Suggs, of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Kallie Barnes, Tiffany Heimbuch, Kendra Tucker; great grandchildren, Ayden Morris, Wade Morris.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at St. Marks Episcopal Church with Rev. Ben Duffey officiating. Burial will follow in Old Emporia Cemetery, Emporia,VA.
Wrenn, Clarke, & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service is taking care of arrangements where the family will receive friends, this evening, Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Marks Episcopal Church, Box 2, Halifax,NC 27839.
