Prostitution complaints in the Elm and Green street areas of Weldon led to an arrest Thursday following an undercover operation.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office charged Sherri King “Little Bit” Bundy, 45, with solicit for prostitution.

Lieutenant Anzell Harris said her arrest was the result of a joint effort with agents from the Tarboro Police Department following complaints from residents over the past few weeks.

Around 4:30 p.m. an undercover agent went to the Elm Street area where he was allegedly approached by Bundy and solicited prostitution — $20 to perform a sexual act on the agent, Harris said.

“Recently there has been a lot of prostitution in the area,” Harris said, explaining most of the alleged prostitutes are drug users who are using the money to buy.

Bundy was given a $500 secured bond and has a September 4 court date.

Harris said the sheriff’s office will continue to follow up on prostitution complaints in the area.
