A second prostitution arrest has been made in Weldon in less than a week’s time, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Narcotics Agent D.C. Dickens today charged Jeanette Bland Barrett, 55, with solicit for prostitution.

The arrest was the result of a follow-up investigation on complaints of prostitution around the Green and Elm street areas of Weldon. That investigation led to one arrest Friday.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Lieutenant Anzell Harris said in a news release, is working a joint undercover effort with the Tarboro Police Department.

Harris could not be immediately reached for further comment but said in the press release that Barrett was given a $1,000 and has a September 4 court date.
