A Gaston man is out of jail on $21,000 bond following his arrest Friday evening on marijuana-related charges.

Terry Anthony Rook’s arrest was the result of citizen complaints and investigation by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, which was assisted by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office and Gaston Police Department.

Execution of the search warrant at Rook’s residence outside Gaston led to the discovery of marijuana in plain view on the kitchen table. The officers and narcotics agents, with the help of a Halifax canine, also found marijuana plants inside and outside the residence, Northampton Captain Brenda Burnette said. The officers also seized stolen property.

Burnette said the sheriff’s office received complaints within the last week of possible drug activity at the residence, the specific location she declined to disclose.

Rook, 40, faces charges of manufacture marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, possession of a firearm by a felon, maintaining a vehicle, place or dwelling to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rook has a probable cause hearing set for August 19.
