Award is Catt's meow for HRMC employee

Halifax Regional Laboratory Manager Wanda Catt received a national honor that recognizes and rewards leadership potential, hard work, dedication and service to the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science .

Catt, a 20 year employee of Halifax Regional, received the Keys to the Future Award during the ASCLS Annual Meeting in Houston.

Out of 9,000 members, Catt was recognized among 53 other Key to the Future Award recipients. The mission of ASCLS is to make a positive impact in health care, through leadership, that will assure excellence in the practice of laboratory medicine.

“This is a very impressive acknowledgment of Wanda’s service and passion for her work, and very well deserved,” said Bruce Robistow, vice president of clinical and support services in a news release. “I am very proud of her and appreciate her bringing both her exceptional level of professionalism and leadership to our Laboratory department and the entire Medical Center.”

 

In addition to managing Halifax Regional’s laboratory services, Catt leads the medical center’s events committee which includes community events such as the Halifax Regional Spring 5K and most recently coordinated a hospital-wide food drive which benefitted local community organizations including Boys and Girls Club of Halifax County and The John 3:16 Center.
