Police said a gunshot victim was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center to be treated for a wound to the leg. The victim is in stable condition.
Police said a suspect vehicle collided into a car on Highway 48 around Rightmyer and the occupants fled.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to perform a canine track.
Police declined further comment this morning pending the completion of the investigation.
