A man wanted for a series of car break-ins was arrested Sunday and the woman whose house he was at was served a fugitive warrant from Virginia.

Roanoke Rapids police charged Perry Eugene Davis IV, 23, of Franklin Street, with seven counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, two counts of larceny from a motor vehicle and two counts of possession of stolen goods.

The charges stem from car break-ins that occurred August 2 through 12 in the 400, 600 and 700 blocks of Jefferson Street and the 1200 block of Washington Street.

Davis allegedly went through unlocked cars, taking wallets, GPS units and debits cards.

Based on eyewitness accounts and investigation by Detective Bobby Martin, police were able to allegedly tie Davis to the crimes.

Sergeant Mike Moseley, who was looking for Davis, had information he was in Northampton County. Investigators there, however, led the sergeant back to Roanoke Rapids Sunday where he found Davis at a residence on East Third Street, along with Maria Kristina Planelles, 43, who was wanted out of Chesapeake for possession of methamphetamine.

Davis was jailed on $50,000 bond and has a November 13 court. Planelles was being held without the opportunity for bond due to her fugitive status.
