Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools Superintendent Dennis Sawyer confirmed this afternoon that Bennett's resignation is effective October 18.
Bennett has accepted a position as athletic director of Chapel Hill High School.

Roanoke Rapids boys soccer and basketball coach Todd Seymour has been named the school's athletic director.
Said Sawyer of Bennett, “He's done an exceptional job leading the athletic program over the past six years and we wish him the best.”
