Detective Obert Wiltsie of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said the agency received a report that Bennie Lee Dailey was in possession of a firearm in the county on December 4 of last year.
Investigation led to the recovery of the weapon. The Garysburg Police Department served Halifax County warrants Tuesday after Dailey turned himself in.
He was jailed on $10,000 bond and has a February 26 court date.
