According to an initial report by Trooper R.P. Dennis, Wendy Campbell Lucy, 56, of Miles Street, Roanoke Rapids, was traveling north on Nature's Trail off Highway 125 around 3:30 p.m.
She attempted to turn onto 122 Nature's Trail when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, and struck a ditch. The vehicle came to an uncontrolled rest. There was no damage to the vehicle. The highway patrol is awaiting an autopsy report.
