Asbell would have constant Halifax presence

For 13 years, I have served as the Elected District Attorney for Bertie, Hertford and Northampton Counties with pride and integrity. As the only candidate for District Attorney with the experience managing a multi-county district, I understand that each courthouse operates differently.

Recently, some Halifax County citizens have asked if they would have to travel to Winton to have access to me and my office if I served as their District Attorney?

Under no circumstance would I sacrifice the operations of the Halifax County Courthouse. In fact, if elected, I will have a constant presence in Halifax County. Working with the professional staff of assistant district attorneys, victim witness advocates, and administrative support in the Halifax County Courthouse, I will ensure all citizens have equal access to their District Attorney by holding office hours and having an open door policy so that any citizen of Halifax County can have access to their Elected District Attorney.

I would be honored to bring my 21 years of experience as a prosecutor to the Halifax County Courthouse because I understand that in the court of law, experience counts.

Respectfully,

Valerie Asbell

District Attorney

Prosecutorial District 6B
