A Jackson man has been arrested in a motorcycle theft that was reported August 20, according to the Northampton County Sheriff's Office.

Captain Chuck Hasty said in a statement Deputy D.B. Simmons took the report. The victim stated the bike was stolen from a shed sometime between 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, and 3 p.m. the following day when it was discovered missing.

Investigator Courtney Williams developed Reginald Eugene Hardy, 28, as an alleged suspect in the case. Hardy was reportedly seen by a witness pushing the bike down the road, but described him as a woman as Hardy reportedly has a tendency to cross-dress.

Williams charged Hardy on August 22 with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods. He was jailed on $10,000 bond and has a September 8 court date.
