A Gaston man described as a street level dealer was arrested Thursday following a four-month investigation.

Captain M.D. Deloatch Sr. of the Northampton County Sheriff's Office said the arrest of Levitus Mason, 21, was based on a investigation that began with citizen complaints in the William Moody Lane area of Gaston.

Following service of a search warrant officers seized 264 grams of marijuana and $2,340 in cash.

He was charged with felony possession of marijuana; maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He received an $8,000 secured bond and February 17 court date.

“The Northampton County Sheriff's Office will continue to investigate all complaints of illegal drug activity in the county,” said Sheriff Jack Smith in a statement.
