Gaston Fire and Rescue was dispatched alongside the Garysburg Fire Department to a residential structure fire this morning.

A tractor-trailer driver was listed in stable condition after his rig turned over on Interstate 95 early this morning.

Fire claims life of Garysburg woman

Fire claimed the life of a Garysburg woman this morning, Gaston and Fire Rescue reports.

While the state Highway Patrol had no immediate details, Gaston Fire and Rescue reports it was dispatched shortly after 9:15 this morning to a vehicle crash with driver entrapment.

Fire destroys Gaston home

A fire Thursday on Myrick Street in Gaston destroyed a home and sent one of its occupants to the hospital for treatment.

A 29-year-old man, believed to be an apparent suspect in an early morning home invasion, was shot and killed in the aftermath of the crime.
