Teens transported following PWC collision

One teenager was transported to Vidant in Greenville while another was transported to Halifax Regional following a personal watercraft collision in the area of Goat Island.

Shortly past 11 a.m., after a little more than a mile chase by a sergeant with the state Wildlife Resources Commission, a bear cub went back into the woods around Canal Walk subdivision.

Bears inside city limits a common occurence

A bear sighting inside the city limits Wednesday night created a social media stir, but it's not the first time they have been spotted, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission says.

A Broadlands, Virginia, man has been charged with operating a boat while impaired in an early morning crash on Lake Gaston.

Update: Man taken to Wake following canoe mishap

A Raleigh man was transported to WakeMed today after initial treatment for mild hypothermia when he went into the water in a canoeing mishap on the Roanoke River.

Two Halifax County men charged last week with reportedly poaching a black bear could face a $2,000 fine and loss of their hunting license if found guilty.

Wildlife says no-wake zone not needed at Poe Creek

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission sees no need for a no-wake zone on Poe Creek, a letter sent to Halifax County Attorney Glynn Rollins said.
