A second citywide curfew in Roanoke Rapids has been imposed following the two tornadoes which struck late Saturday afternoon.
As you all are aware two tornados struck the City of Roanoke Rapids at approximately 5:00 p.m. today. There is a curfew currently in effect and it will remain in effect until 7:00 a.m. The Mayor of the City of Roanoke Rapids has declared a State of Emergency.

A state of emergency has been declared and a curfew set from now until 7 a.m. Sunday after what is believed to be a tornado slammed Roanoke Rapids, especially in the Tenth Street and Park Avenue areas this evening.
It was simply to be there for John Taylor and on a blustery, dreary morning 117 runners participated in the run named in his honor.
