The Roanoke Rapids police and fire departments, along with Citizens on Patrol and help from Roanoke Rapids Early College as well as others, held the annual Christmas for Kids shopping spree this morning at Walmart.
The Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation Department and Main Street Roanoke Rapids ushered in the holiday season with Christmas on the Avenue this evening.
A man, who along with his wife, was sentenced to 144 months in federal prison for a multi-million dollar Medicaid fraud scheme is claiming his attorney was ineffective for advising him his wife could be compelled to testify against him and that his sentence included past firearm and RICO enhancements.
