An evening of stargazing will be held at Medoc Mountain State Park on Friday, January 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This program can be cancelled on short notice due to uncooperative weather.
The program will be held in the large meadow in the day use area and will occur just after a new moon. It will focus on different objects in the sky without moonlight to interfere. Jupiter will be visible.
Those who have telescopes are welcome to bring them.
Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather as even on milder winter nights temperatures can feel cold after a short time.
Participants are encouraged to use red lights if possible while on the observation field as it helps preserve dark adaptation.
