While some say you can’t go home again, most would argue a short visit doesn’t hurt.

George Dickinson of Hotel California “A Salute to the Eagles” is excited about a return engagement at the Weldon Mills Theatre on Saturday, March 14.

As part of its tour across the country, he and his band will stop again in Roanoke Rapids to perform a tribute show of Grammy award-winning Eagles tunes.

With notable prowess on guitar – band members played 15 among them – last year, the five tie-clad gentlemen shared their musical talents in an accurate and respectful reproduction of what many in the audience would consider the Great American Songbook.

“It sounded great and the folks there are wonderful, they wouldn’t stop feeding us,” he said of the entertainment venue and staff.

While remiss he and the band didn’t get to see much of Roanoke Rapids when they played in 2025, he noted its generous hospitality and welcoming southern vibe. “It’s a really nice place. Everybody knows everybody and everybody knows their grandparents so you can’t get away with anything. It's like coming home for me.”

Dickinson, a North Carolina native who left to pursue music in Southern California, said to expect at least two hours of classic Eagles songs with a few surprises in the mix.

“The show does all the hits, the full catalog of Eagles material plus solo tunes from Don Henely, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh,” he said. “I want people to have some fun.”

Dickinson noted the timeless impact of the Eagles and how their songs – then and now – define a “social fabric,” and for many stand as “the soundtrack of our lives.”

Dickinson said the great music and the spirited audience bring out the best of the band, adding if the folks need a reason to come to the show, “we’ll help you relive some of your misspent youth.”
