Two clean energy education advocacy organizations will host a free gathering to discuss challenges and opportunities for an equitable and just integration of renewables to power rural communities.
The Center for Energy Education and the North Carolina Black Alliance invite clean energy allies and community members to a rural clean energy convening on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 460 Airport Road, Roanoke Rapids.
The free comprehensive meeting is designed to educate and equip participants with essential knowledge to navigate clean energy in ways to strengthen rural communities through energy independence, disaster resilience and new opportunities.

The event, which includes lunch, will provide a platform to create local meaningful impact by sharing perspectives, exchanging ideas and planning future initiatives.

“By working together, rural communities hold great potential to build a cleaner, stronger future,” said C4EE Executive Director Mozine Lowe. “Participants will learn how connections, collaboration and sound strategies bolster education, workforce development and economic empowerment at home.”
