The fireworks show in Halifax scheduled for tonight will be held Sunday. The show was originally slated for this evening but organizers opted to hold the show Sunday because of weather concerns.
Music begins at 5:30 p.m. There will be a parachutist landing at 6:30 p.m. in honor of the late Pete Luter and at 8 p.m. there will be a program honoring veterans by the Dallas Jones Roanoke Valley Veterans Center. Fireworks are scheduled after that program at dark.
Throughout the evening, there will be children's activities and vendors.
The Enfield Volunteer Fire Department will hoist a big American flag with its one of its truck during the playing of the national anthem.
The event will be held on the grounds of the courthouse complex in Halifax. It was originally scheduled for July 4.
