The bodies of two drowning victims have been recovered from Roanoke Rapids Lake this morning, according to fire and law enforcement officials.
The first body was recovered around 6:30 this morning by members of the Littleton Fire Department's dive team, Davie Volunteer Fire Department Chief David Padgett said.
The second body was pulled from the lake around 7:15 a.m., Padgett said. The second victim has not been identified.
Emergency responders began a search of the lake after receiving a missing person report for Taushan Lagenus Tillery, 18.
He was last seen in the area of the Thelma Bridge on Thelma Road Tuesday fishing. Padgett said another person, aged 19, was with him.
Tillery's family had not had contact with him since then or any recent cell phone contact.
