Two Halifax County men have been arrested in a breaking and entering which occurred on residential property in Weldon, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

The men, Callie Wesly Edwards, 37, and Jacob Matthew Davis, 30, reportedly took power tools, Chief Deputy Scott Hall said. The tools were recovered, he said.

In a statement Hall said on October 11 deputies responded to a report of a breaking and entering in progress in the 1400 block of Wellmont Street. The call came in around 2:30 p.m.

Investigation by Sergeant Andy Cash and deputies of B Squad led to warrants being issued on Edwards, of Weldon, who was arrested on the day of the report, and Davis, of Roanoke Rapids, who was arrested Monday morning at a residence in Garysburg.

The men were charged with felony breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods and larceny after breaking or entering.

They have November 20 court dates.
