The Halifax Resolves Chapter of the North Carolina Sons of the American Revolution are sponsoring a poster contest.

The topic is an event in the Revolutionary War.

Ken Wilson, president of the Halifax Resolves Chapter spoke, to four fourth grade and four fifth grade classes at Manning Elementary School about the contest and answered questions.

Wilson also spoke to the Halifax Academy fifth grade class about the project.

Wilson presented some examples of events, but left the choice of the event up to the student.  Numerous questions were answered not only about the contest, but also about Wilson’s Colonial clothing.

The posters will be judged at the March 12 chapter meeting.  The chapter level winner will receive a winner’s certificate and a check for $100.

The winner’s poster will be forwarded to the state level contest to be held on May 15 at Alamance Battleground.
