Bobby “Bob” Parker Ogburn, 82, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2020, at Vidant North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, after a short battle with pneumonia and Covid-19.  

He was born in Roanoke Rapids to the late Junius Parker “Pat” Ogburn and Josephine Parrish Ogburn, and was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick Wayne Ogburn.

He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty years, Maureen “Mo” Ogburn; his daughter, Debra Howard and husband, Jeff Howard, his son, Tim Ogburn and partner, Tammy Davis; his grandchildren, Meghan Howard and her partner Jesse, Andrew Ogburn and his wife Megan,  Derek Ogburn and his wife Libby; and his great-grandchildren, Maxton, Weston, Carson, Holden and Ashton.  He is also survived by his sister, Betty Shaw, his nephew, Wayne Medlin and his wife Teresa, his nieces, Kristy Shaw and Kim Shaw; his sister-in-law, Linda Meades and husband Ray, nephew Alister and partner Ashleigh; many great-nieces and nephews; his dear neighbors of Price and Devonshire, and his special helper, Nancy Pearson. 

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Cryptographer.  He remained in touch with Don Mason and his other army pals through the years.  

He was a dedicated employee of Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District and after retirement enjoyed a lot of great fishing on Roanoke Rapids Lake.

At Bob’s request, there will be no memorial service or visitation due to Covid-19.  The family will have a private service.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers to please consider a donation to Rainbow Animal Rescue or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
