Marian Leake White, 88 of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 16, 2024.

She was born in Halifax County on July 15, 1935 to the late James William Leake, Sr. and Molly Elizabeth Cobb Leake and was preceded in death by brothers, Clifton Leake and Claude Leake and her granddaughter, Katie White.

Marian played piano for many years at First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Roanoke Rapids where she was a member for many years. 

She worked as a registered nurse caring for many people. 

Marian was a dedicated servant using her talents to minister to local nursing homes for many years. 

She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and loved all of her family very much.

Marian is survived by her daughter, Amy Ricks and her husband, Wayne of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; her son, Robert J. White and his wife, Nancy of Easly, South Carolina; her brother, James Leake, Jr.; her three grandchildren, Jason White Easiy, South Carolina, Jay Thomas Ricks and his wife, Tonya, and Steven B. Ricks and his wife, Rachel; her great-grandchildren, Topanga Smith and her husband, Lorenz, Bryson Ryder, Alyssa White, Hunter White, Michael Ricks, and Gavin Ricks; her extended great-grandchildren, D.J. Hall and Brenden Hall; her many nieces and nephews and her special friends Amelia Edwards and Virginia Wright.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends and family at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time.
