Carrie Daniel Pullen of Roanoke Rapids went home to be with her Lord on the morning of October 6, 2024.
She passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born in Bailey, NC on June 11, 1936 to the late Dee Williard Daniel and Catherine Muriel Bissette.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John David Pullen, Sr., her daughter, Connie Lynn Pullen and her siblings, Douglas Daniel, Christine Dillon, Roxie Davis, and Romonia Pridgen.
She is survived by her son, John David Pullen, Jr. of Marshallberg, NC and fiancé, Lou Ann Mangum; her daughter, Andrea Woodell Eason and her husband, Donnie of Durham; her grandchildren, Cody Daniel Pullen, John Carson Woodell, Lindsey P. Mason and her husband, Seth, Bailey Elizabeth Eason, Erica Brielle Eason and Dillion Britt Eason; great-grand-children, Ruby Monroe Barbare, Kaidyn Matthew Tuttle; long-time family friend, Peggy Williams, her “other” daughter Katherine Askew and many nieces and nephews.
Carrie loved her family, traveling with her friend, Dot Green, spending time at the lake with Mary Ann Jones and friends, doing for others and cooking. She was known for her homemade pickles, chicken salad and deviled eggs. Carrie was a long-time member of Rosemary Baptist Church where she was the church treasurer for over 25 years and served on the kitchen committee for many years. She loved helping with the Shoe Box Ministry (Samaritan’s Purse) and made over 2500 dresses for young girls in 3rd World Countries.
In her final days, Carrie loved visits from her family and many friends. She appreciated each and every one along with her wonderful care taker Joyce Smith Winston.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Rosemary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids with Dr. Layne Wallace officiating.
Interment will follow in the Whitakers Cemetery in Whitakers, NC.
The family will receive friends, from 12:30 PM until service time in the fellowship hall.
Arrangements are being handled by Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for donations to be made in her memory to Rosemary Baptist Church, 936 Jackson Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
