Donna Marquette O’Brien, 96, passed away May 15, 2019, at Carolina Rest Home.

Donna was born January 24, 1923, in Clinton County, New York, to the late Charles Henry Whitman and Grace Choiniere.

She retired from the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, Maryland. She also lived in Venice, Fl, before moving back to North Carolina to be near her family.

She is survived by her son, H.J. “Bunny” Gardiner and his wife Marjorie of Littleton; her grandchildren Marty Gardiner and his girlfriend Kathy Johnson of Littleton and Missy Weeks and her husband Ken of Apex; her great-grandchildren, Kaela Gardiner of Roanoke Rapids, Kinsey King and her husband Jessup of Raleigh and Tori Weeks of Apex; her great great-grandchildren, Laeha Gardiner and Bentley King; a special friend, Karen Meyers of Baltimore, MD.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Carolina Rest Home for their care and attention.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating.
