Elizabeth “Ann” Closson, 80, of Roanoke Rapids passed away November 7, 2019 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 19, 1939, to the late Robert and Elizabeth Grymes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Closson, Sr; son, Barney M. Hobbs, Jr.; two brothers, Roy and William Grymes; granddaughter, Michelle Hewitt; and a great grandson, Nathan Taylor. 

Mrs. Closson was retired.

She leaves two daughters to cherish her memory, Kim Taylor (James) of Lewisburg, KY and Tammy Scales (Wayne) of Lake Gaston; a step-son, Henry Closson, Jr of Eden; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Grymes of Virginia Beach; sister, Patricia Slade of Virginia Beach; and her beloved fur baby Sugar Ray.

Mrs. Closson also enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, Chris, Veronica, Billie and ule, Bridget and Gary, Ellis and Jessica, Ginger, Jessi and Quentin; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service for Mrs. Closson will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Park Baptist Church.

Her daughter, Kim, would like to extend a welcome to anyone who wants to stop by Mrs. Closson’s home at 343 Franklin St.  Kim will be at her mom’s to greet friends until the memorial service.
