Vicky Dean Walker Hyman, 39, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at Signature Healthcare in Roanoke Rapids. 


Vicky was born February 2, 1980, in Halifax County to the late Steven Walker and Connie Chambliss Walker. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Edith Chambliss and Hazel and Ralph Hamill; her brother, James Chambliss, Sr.

Vicky was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and friend. She was very outspoken and feisty, you never wondered what she was thinking.

Vicky is survived by her husband, Cephis Hyman of the home, her sister, that she considered her mama, Connie Coker and her husband Alton; her children, Jordan Walker, Nyasia Hyman and Cephus Hyman; her sisters, Ashley Coker and her fiancé Phillip Johnson, Angela Still and her husband Stephen and April Walker and her fiancé Bryan Pearson; her brothers, Buddy E. Poythress and his wife Glenda and Tim Coker and his wife Courtney; her nieces, Tiffany Poythress, Crystal Clay, Paisley Johnson and Brianna Walker; her nephews, James Chambliss, Jr., Kevin Chambliss, Brantley Johnson and Noah Coker; her aunts, Verla Jenkins, Rosie Roundtree, Vickie and Rusty Wells, Nancy and David Hand and Kathy Rightmyer; her uncles, Alton Cain, Michael Walker and Buckie Hamill; many cousins and loving friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Vicky’s life will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, November 21, 2019 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Russ Collins officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
