Susan Jeanette Ellis Carlisle, 66, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at ECU Health North Hospital.

Susan was born on September 24, 1960, in Roanoke Rapids, the daughter of the late Virginia Elizabeth Tuck and Louis Eugene Ellis. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Lee Balmer.

Susan will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Willard “Rudy” Rudolph Carlisle; her children, Dwayne Louis Balmer and his wife, April, and Jennifer Webb and her husband, Tommie; her sister, Jan King; her brothers, Roger Ellis and his wife, Barbara, and Steven Ellis and his wife, Laura; her grandchildren, Codi Parrish, Caitlin Landoskey and her husband, Anthony, Savannah Nicholson, Gabbi Martin and her wife, Grace, Jason Balmer, Emma Balmer, Julia Balmer, Kaiden Balmer, Raven Green and her husband, Justin, Morgan Wright and her husband, Hunter, Vivian Griffin, and Anthony Balmer; and her great-grandchildren, Kenslee Landoskey, Archer Landoskey, Alora Balmer, Novalee Balmer, Kai Scott, Ariel Scott, and Amelia Green and her dog Tater Tot.

Susan’s family and the many people who loved her will cherish the memories they shared with her and the special place she held in their lives.
